UX/UI Designer (Robotics)

Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design UX and UI for human-machine interfaces used to operate, monitor, and interact with robots in real-world deployments.
• Create fleet status and management dashboards displaying real-time system health, task progress, and operational state across large robot deployments.
• Own the design process from ideation, wireframes, and interaction design through high-fidelity visual design and development handoff.
• Map user journeys and flows for internal teams and external clients, identifying pain points, edge cases, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations to deliver technically grounded, shippable designs.
• Build and maintain a visual design system and establish product design standards.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, user flows, information hierarchy, and high-quality UI execution.
• 4+ years of experience designing complex, real-time, data-dense, time-sensitive interfaces connected to physical hardware.
• Ability to work across sketches, whiteboard sessions, interaction design, and polished development handoffs.
• Strong visual design skills, including typography, color, spacing, layout, and aesthetics.
• Ability to design multi-step flows, edge cases, and error states in high-stakes environments involving human safety and autonomous agents.
• Strong proficiency with industry-standard design tools and pipelines, plus clear communication with technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, industrial automation, manufacturing, warehousing, or other mission-critical operations.
• Background in HMI or control-interface design for hardware devices.
• Experience designing real-time data visualization and streaming state interfaces.
• Experience as a first or early designer establishing processes at a startup.
