Flight Software Engineer II (C/C++)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at hirify.global's global headquarters.

Base salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $112,000–$145,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop application software for real-time operating systems and embedded Linux.
• Build hardware drivers for spacecraft sensors and actuators, including IMUs, star trackers, and reaction wheels.
• Develop and maintain unit tests within a continuous integration framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop, systems, and embedded systems engineers to verify functionality and validate requirements.
• Review source code, enforce coding standards, and participate in PDR and CDR design reviews.
• Assist with on-orbit and interplanetary flight operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• At least 2 years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, with U.S. export-control eligibility applying to U.S. office roles.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience with Rust.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and/or UDP/TCP in embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites.
