Flight Software Engineer (All Levels)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test real-time embedded flight software for missile systems.
• Collaborate with GNC, systems engineering, and hardware teams on multidisciplinary integration.
• Implement and maintain software for high-reliability and safety-critical environments.
• Support simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight testing to validate performance.
• Perform root cause analysis and debugging across software and system interfaces.
• Apply software lifecycle practices, configuration management, verification, and development standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• Professional experience, internships, research, open-source contributions, or other hands-on technical work; candidates at all experience levels are considered.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems.
• Familiarity with hardware/software integration, real-time system constraints, and GNC or similar control-intensive applications.
• Understanding of simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, testing, verification, and validation practices.
• Active or eligible for a Top-Secret security clearance; access to classified or export-controlled information may require additional U.S. Government authorization, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Flight software experience for missile, launch vehicle, or spacecraft systems.
• Experience with FPGA-based systems and embedded software optimization.
• Knowledge of secure software development and cybersecurity best practices.
• Familiarity with agile or iterative development methodologies.
• Defense-sector software verification, validation, and integration experience.
