Senior Mechanical Engineer (Pharmaceutical)

What you will do

• Manage equipment modules and packages through design and procurement phases, including data sheets and specifications.
• Lead the development of HVAC, black utility (chilled water, heating hot water, steam), plumbing, and compressed gas system philosophies.
• Develop technical design documents such as P&IDs, utility consumption summaries, airflow diagrams, and pressurization plans.
• Perform construction assistance through submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify design intent.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and project management to ensure high-level service and technical compliance.
• Mentor and develop less experienced mechanical engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of design experience in a design firm setting.
• Experience in Life Science sectors (Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Cell & Gene Therapy).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Burlington, MA.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
• Knowledge of GMP Manufacturing environments.
• Energy Modeling experience using HAP software.
