Engineering Manager, Platform (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 annual base salary for California candidates, plus eligibility for an equity plan

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers while supporting growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Champion AI-forward engineering practices, including effective prompting, critical review of generated code, and responsible use of AI tools.
• Drive high-impact product initiatives in partnership with Product, Design, Quality, Customer Success, and Sales.
• Recruit and onboard engineering talent and provide clarity on scope, timelines, and delivery expectations.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on platform architecture and technical strategy.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, testable, secure, and performant software.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or in an equivalent leadership role.
• Experience scaling teams in a startup or growth-stage environment.
• Technical strength in modern web application development with React, Node, Ruby, or similar technologies.
• Experience delivering enterprise SaaS products, ideally in B2B, FinTech, or PropTech.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude, including validating AI output before shipping and coaching engineers in disciplined usage.

Nice to have

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with B2B or FinTech/PropTech products.
