Engineering Manager, New Products (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; hybrid

Salary: $180K–$250K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow an engineering team building new product lines from zero to commercial launch.
• Partner with Product to turn unvalidated market hypotheses into technical architectures and working systems.
• Own technical execution from scoping and build-vs-buy decisions through pilots, launches, and customer impact.
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and engineering efficiency as products scale.
• Build engineering culture through expectations, feedback, 1:1s, career development, hiring, and leadership development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ year in engineering leadership.
• Experience shipping a 0-to-1 product or system in a startup or high-growth environment, ideally through commercial launch.
• Strong system design, architecture, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and convert incomplete specifications into structured execution.
• Technical fluency in code review, architecture, engineering tradeoffs, quality, reliability, and performance.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in New York City, NY.

Nice to have

• Founding engineer or early-stage startup experience.
• Experience in complex regulated environments such as construction, logistics, or government systems.
