Equipment Associate (Laboratory Equipment)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; onsite office and laboratory work

Salary: $19.90–$25 per hour

What you will do

• Install, qualify, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair R&D laboratory instruments.
• Coordinate IQ/OQ/PQ qualification, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair services with Quality Assurance and vendors.
• Prepare equipment SOPs and maintain complete, timely service documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Schedule instrument downtime and communicate equipment and service updates to R&D personnel.
• Manage laboratory inventory, order supplies, and replenish R&D workspaces.
• Perform laboratory safety checks, support audits, and complete resulting corrective actions.

Requirements

• BS or BA in biomedical engineering, biological sciences, or a related field.
• Industry-related experience supporting laboratory equipment is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ, biosafety requirements, and BSLI/BSLII laboratory environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform squatting, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin and occasionally outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DNA isolation and purification, PCR, cell culture, or next-generation sequencing.
• Familiarity with LIMS.
• Experience with automation or high-throughput instruments.
