Lab Equipment Maintenance Technician III (2nd Shift: 3:00PM-11:30PM)

Location: Onsite in Tarrytown, New York, United States. Second shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with 24/7 emergency support responsibilities.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on laboratory and vivarium equipment, including CO₂ incubators, biosafety cabinets, cryogenic freezers, autoclaves, sterilizers, washers, clean steam systems, and laboratory water purification systems.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical, control-system, and monitoring-device issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Respond to equipment, environmental, and site emergencies, including alarms from Rees, Dickson, Watchdog EX, and related monitoring systems.
• Maintain electronic work orders, calibration records, and asset compliance data.
• Support AAALAC, IACUC, audit, and inspection readiness.
• Partner with researchers, veterinarians, and animal care specialists to meet scientific study requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant laboratory or industrial equipment maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience with motors, pumps, valves, sensors, VFDs, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Knowledge of 24 VDC, three-phase 208V and 480V systems, technical schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work in vivarium research facilities around animals.
• Valid driver’s license recognized by the State of New York.

Nice to have

• Trade school training in engineering technology, biomedical technology, or a related field.
