Design Engineer 2 - Specialist (Electronic Security Systems)

What you will do

• Support electronic security system projects from sales concepts and design development through construction drawings and construction administration.
• Develop system concepts, requirements, specifications, budgets, timelines, and technology recommendations.
• Prepare and review bills of materials, pricing, labor calculations, product submittals, and supporting documentation.
• Interpret 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC drawings during takeoff and project reviews.
• Coordinate review calls with internal and external teams and collaborate with clients and design engineering teams.
• Contribute to client partnerships, project quality, customer satisfaction, and enterprise-wide ESS initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent professional experience; high school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in system design, preferably technical systems design.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong time management, communication, problem-solving, technical troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Understanding of construction processes, installation, integration, architectural drawings, construction drawings, specifications, and project phases.
• Ability to obtain a government-issued Top Secret clearance is preferred for US-based candidates.

Nice to have

• Certifications or training with Milestone, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, or S2.
• Experience with ESS programming matrices and complex pricing tools.
