Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $160,000–$230,000 per year, depending on geographic market and qualifications.

What you will do

• Own critical backend services for hirify.global Control and contribute to other security products.
• Define the technical vision, architecture, and expansion of backend systems.
• Work with Product, Design, and Engineering to turn product goals into iterative plans and deliver full-stack contributions with backend depth.
• Raise standards for code quality, reviews, testing, reliability, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Guide engineers through architectural trade-offs, provide code reviews, and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and building distributed systems and cloud-based services in production.
• Technical leadership experience influencing architecture, setting engineering standards, and enabling other engineers.
• Strong proficiency with AI workflows, Python/FastAPI, TypeScript/Node.js, or a comparable modern backend stack.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs and third-party integrations.
• Solid understanding of security concepts and practices, plus strong communication and outcome-oriented problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with React.
• Experience in a cybersecurity domain.
