Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional work at a Booz Allen or customer facility as required

Salary: $86,800–$198,000 annualized USD

What you will do

• Lead backend development teams delivering custom tools, systems, and websites.
• Design and maintain scalable enterprise application components, APIs, databases, and data-storage solutions.
• Identify technical risks and contribute to software solution development and system modernization.
• Run performance testing and benchmarking and optimize data performance.
• Mentor or supervise software engineering employees and collaborate on Agile product development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting Agile software development for system modernization.
• 8+ years of software development experience with programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks.
• Experience with backend enterprise applications, databases, data storage, performance testing, and optimization.
• Experience mentoring or supervising employees.
• Bachelor’s degree, or 10+ years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python, Node, Groovy, Scala, Spring Cloud, Spring Core, Spring Boot, or Spring Data.
• Experience with server-side development, middleware, application or data integration, API development, and core application systems.
• Experience writing source code for new applications, automated testing, workflow automation, or requirements resolution.
• Secret clearance or a master’s degree.
