Senior Software Engineer- Backend (Product & Cloud Security)

Location: Seattle, WA; onsite in the Seattle office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Base compensation: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus significant equity opportunities

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable, reliable backend services for the platform.
• Implement authentication, authorization, access controls, data isolation, and data loss prevention.
• Develop active threat monitoring, defensive controls, secrets management, key rotation, and secure-by-default patterns.
• Manage vulnerabilities and dependencies across cloud and application systems.
• Build audit logging and supporting data infrastructure for customer security and privacy requirements.
• Partner with security, compliance, engineering, and product stakeholders to identify trust-boundary risks before release.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience shipping production code.
• Strong backend experience, including end-to-end ownership of services in fast-moving environments.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or equivalent languages, with the ability to debug complex distributed systems.
• Professional experience applying security fundamentals, including trust boundaries, blast radius, and failure modes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus clear cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise-scale multi-tenant SaaS, NoSQL databases, Kubernetes, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience responding to enterprise security questionnaires or customer security reviews.
