Senior Embedded Engineer (Linux)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual OTE: $200,000–$315,000 USD

What you will do

• Build the next generation of the Command Connector product for turning legacy cameras into cloud-native, AI-searchable devices.
• Manage concurrent video streams and translate diverse camera protocols into a unified pipeline.
• Feed video data into computer vision models and edge inference systems.
• Read and analyze kernel oops and panic traces.
• Debug GPU driver issues and work with secure boot and LUKS disk encryption.
• Diagnose networking internals and manage RAID arrays, including disk failures and rebuilds.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience for Linux using system programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Go.
• Experience in embedded development or low-level system software development.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture.
• Experience with Linux internals, networking, boot and security subsystems, GPU drivers, and RAID management.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong communication and documentation skills; onsite availability five days per week in San Mateo is required.
