Senior Engineer - Cloud

Location: Remote within the United States; Sunnyvale, California

Salary: $265,000–$285,000 per year, plus bonus and equity eligibility

Cybersecurity company building an AI-native platform that protects organizations by processing large-scale security telemetry and preventing breaches.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for cloud-based cybersecurity and endpoint management platforms.
• Build distributed, microservices-based, and event-driven architectures using modern messaging patterns.
• Create high-performance cloud infrastructure components and support multi-service reliability through monitoring, testing, and debugging.
• Work on sensor telemetry, system debuggability, root cause analysis, and critical issue resolution.
• Collaborate across frontend and backend teams, participate in code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
• Contribute to software architecture standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience building backend modules for distributed systems with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka or RabbitMQ, and service mesh patterns.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, managed cloud services, Terraform or CloudFormation, auto-scaling, CI/CD, and multi-region deployments.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka, Postgres, and Elasticsearch or OpenSearch for caching, event processing, transactional data, search, logging, and analytics.
• Experience designing REST or equivalent APIs with authentication, authorization, versioning, rate limiting, and OpenAPI or Swagger documentation.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java, including concurrency, performance optimization, and production-grade application development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer or electrical engineering field, or equivalent, plus five years of relevant experience.
