Software Engineer I, Frontend (Upfunnel)

Location: Remote within Canada; candidates must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.

Base pay: CAD 101,000–151,000 per year, plus potential equity, stipends, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and improve high-traffic frontend experiences across Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing tooling.
• Develop reliable, accessible, performant, and scalable web experiences for pre-checkout customer journeys.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, communicating risks, trade-offs, and progress.
• Use browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to maintain cross-browser reliability.
• Participate in operational issue resolution and contribute to team growth and development.

Requirements

• Previous work or internship experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Ability to turn business scenarios into solutions spanning multiple software components.
• Ability to write clear, well-tested, extensible code and navigate large codebases.
• Experience debugging code, participating in code reviews, and communicating effectively with engineering stakeholders.
