Cardiovascular Key Account Manager (Biopharmaceuticals): Developing and executing strategic account plans for Amgen cardiovascular products across complex healthcare systems with an accent on institutional access, provider engagement, and compliant utilization. Focus on coordinating matrixed field teams, navigating hospital committees and payer processes, and solving access and implementation barriers across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Territory covers San Francisco, CA.

Salary: $159,488.05–$215,777.95 annual base salary, plus eligible incentives and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead assigned cardiovascular key accounts and develop comprehensive account plans aligned with business strategy and institutional needs.
  • Drive institutional availability and sustainable utilization across inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
  • Build relationships with cardiology, lipidology, pharmacy, P&T, quality, finance, and other healthcare decision-makers.
  • Coordinate pull-through, access, implementation, and hospital initiatives with sales, medical, reimbursement, market access, and alliance teams.
  • Present approved data and messages in compliance with applicable policies.
  • Monitor account performance and market dynamics, providing insights and recommendations to analytics, brand, and market access teams.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales or related account management experience; or master’s degree and 4 years; or bachelor’s degree and 6 years.
  • Experience in healthcare sales, account management, public payors, buying processes, or healthcare decision-making.
  • Knowledge of hospital committee structures, P&T processes, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and reimbursement processes, payer systems, Medicare, and CMS policies.
  • Cardiology experience, especially in dyslipidemia, heart failure, or acute coronary syndromes, is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation, presentation, communication, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of account management or public payor experience.
  • Advanced degree such as MPH, MBA, or PharmD.
  • District management experience and familiarity with community cardiology practices.
