Hardware Engineer (Space Electronics)

Location: Onsite in Phoenix, Arizona; availability for 24/7 product testing campaigns is required.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, qualification, and production of custom space electronics as the responsible engineer and customer technical point of contact.
• Lead cross-functional and cross-site engineering teams across development, prototyping, qualification, manufacturing, and production programs.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risk, requirements, technical execution, and customer data deliverables.
• Derive, allocate, and verify product requirements while coordinating design analyses, trade studies, and verification activities.
• Author engineering analyses, reports, test procedures, and support design verification and production hardware testing.
• Diagnose electronic failures to the discrete component or integrated-circuit level and lead non-conformance, Failure Review Board, root-cause, and corrective-action activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience leading electronic systems work involving PCBA design, embedded microprocessors, FPGA or ASIC design, or space-vehicle integration.
• Experience leading technical contributors and managing cost, schedule, risk, requirements, prototyping, manufacturing, and product development execution.
• Experience authoring, managing, deriving, and verifying requirements for complex electronics systems; experience with IBM Rational DOORS, JAMA Connect, or Siemens Polarion is preferred.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and digital interface technologies, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Ability to work onsite, obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance, and access U.S. export-controlled information.

• Experience designing or specifying space-based, radiation-hardened electronic components.
