TL;DR
Quality Manager (Aerospace & Defense): Establishing and directing quality assurance for aerospace and defense components and finished products with an accent on AS9100 compliance, APQP, supplier quality, and zero-defect manufacturing. Focus on leading quality teams, integrating AS9145 into product development, analyzing process data, resolving customer and field reliability issues, and driving corrective actions.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. Travel up to 25% may be required.

What you will do

  • Lead and manage the functional quality organization and ensure compliance with aerospace AS9100 quality management requirements.
  • Lead APQP for product development and new product introduction using AS9145.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, qualification, monitoring, and purchased-material compliance.
  • Develop quality structures, metrics, statistical analysis, resource plans, and continuous-improvement programs.
  • Train employees in root-cause analysis and problem-solving methods, and drive corrective actions.
  • Resolve customer complaints and field reliability issues, coordinate failure analysis, and ensure hardware inspection and supplier-quality improvements.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of quality assurance experience in defense, space electronics, or high-end aerospace, including management or quality-supervisor experience.
  • Experience with APQP in high-reliability product development or new product introduction.
  • Experience with DCMA and DLA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry.
  • Only US Persons will be considered where access to controlled data or information is required; ITAR and government security eligibility requirements apply.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and use required personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with IPC-610 Class 3, IPC J-STD-001, and MIL-PRF-38534 hybrid electronics.
  • Experience with APQP tools, including process flow diagrams, FMEA, control plans, MSA, process capability, and SPC.
  • AS9100 auditor experience or ASQ CQM/CQE certification.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience.
  • Automotive quality experience.
