Inspector General (Nondestructive Testing)

What you will do

• Inspect production parts, assemblies, materials, weldments, electrical components, and complete systems for quality, cleanliness, workmanship, dimensions, hardness, and conformance to specifications.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing equipment.
• Interpret inspection findings, drawings, schematics, engineering prints, work orders, and test results to accept or reject items and determine required reoperation.
• Observe welding certification tests, examine test specimens, certify qualified personnel, and certify resistance welding equipment.
• Maintain inspection records, furnace and oven records, cleaning facility records, inspection stamps, and related paperwork.
• Support engineering with inspection standards, calibration, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and testing of new or established systems.

Requirements

• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Availability to work first or second shift.
• Ability to perform on-site inspection and testing activities in San Diego.

Nice to have

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Experience using BAAN.
