Staff IT Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 USD annually, plus benefits, equity where applicable, and bonus where applicable

What you will do

• Design and scale internal infrastructure across identity, SaaS, and cloud platforms.
• Build workflow automation, system integrations, infrastructure as code, and internal tooling.
• Define architectural direction for the Business Technologies platform as a founding team member.
• Partner with IT, Security, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and other business teams to translate needs into scalable systems.
• Provide IT support escalation while building systems that reduce recurring support issues.
• Apply LLMs and AI agents to automate IT workflows and operations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT engineering, or a related infrastructure role, with progression toward automation and software engineering.
• Strong Python and scripting/automation experience, including reliable workflows, tooling, or API integrations; ability to write SQL.
• Experience with identity platforms such as Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin, or Auth0, including SSO, SCIM, and access lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of MDM platforms such as Jamf or Intune, including policy management, scripting, or automation.
• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, AWS, or comparable cloud/SaaS infrastructure.
• Experience working in a growth-stage company and applying LLMs or AI agents to IT operations.

Nice to have

• Experience at a Series B–D growth-stage company.
• Exposure to SOC 2 or FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
