TL;DR
IT Systems Engineer (Okta): Designing, building, and operating secure, scalable IT infrastructure for a public-sector environment with an accent on identity and access management, SaaS administration, and federal compliance. Focus on automating joiner–mover–leaver workflows, implementing Zero-Trust controls, and maintaining audit-ready systems across Okta and GCC High/Azure Gov.

Salary: $148,800–$186,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Administer IT platforms including Okta, GCC High, Opal, Slack, Jamf, and Jira.
- Provide escalated support to the IT Services and Support team.
- Partner with Security and Compliance on SSP updates, POA&Ms, audit artifacts, and control mappings.
- Design and maintain Zero-Trust controls, including device posture, network segmentation, and Conditional Access.
- Build Okta Workflows and lightweight services to automate joiner–mover–leaver events, access reviews, and deprovisioning.
- Own change management, documentation, rollback plans, and validation evidence for regulated IT systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems, infrastructure, and/or engineering.
- Experience integrating SaaS APIs and SDKs.
- Experience with Okta or similar identity platforms and SAML, OIDC, and SCIM provisioning methods.
- Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash.
- Experience working within SCIFs and familiarity with IL6, FedRAMP High, and CMMC 2.0 controls.
- Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance may be required for eligible work.
Nice to have
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience for identity and MDM configurations, such as Terraform providers for Okta, Jamf, or Azure.
