Salary: $120,270–$180,410 annual base pay, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and release autonomous vehicle hardware for the hirify.global Driver system across customer platforms.
• Specify and integrate hardware with vehicle partners to meet system performance and customer product requirements.
• Develop sensing and electronics architectures for self-driving robots intended for mass deployment on public roads.
• Benchmark electronics technologies and support make-or-buy decisions.
• Identify and work with key suppliers to move concepts through production readiness.
• Manage parts and assemblies from proof-of-concept validation through production, including quality, cost, and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience with a record of designing, building, and testing electromechanical hardware.
• Experience across the production pipeline, from hand-built prototypes to mass-production factory environments.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, sheet metal, injection molding, machining, and casting.
• Ability to design for different materials and optimize geometry for cost, weight, strength, durability, and thermal performance using FEA and hand calculations.
• Experience creating and executing reliability test plans and working with fabrication and module vendors on DFM, production runs, and validation testing.
• CAD proficiency is required; willingness to support infrequent domestic and international travel is required.
