Mechanical Engineering Technician (Dynapar)

What you will do

• Support the Senior Mechanical Engineer with 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and bills of material.
• Develop, assemble, modify, and test brackets, enclosures, fixtures, tooling, test stands, automation equipment, and mechanical subassemblies.
• Install, align, debug, validate, and troubleshoot test systems, automated equipment, machine guarding, sensors, actuators, and production tooling.
• Work with electrical, controls, software, test, manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and production partners.
• Collect production and equipment data to support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, process changes, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Create and maintain controlled drawings, technical documentation, test records, work instructions, project records, and revision-controlled CAD files.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, CAD/Drafting, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
• Relevant experience in mechanical design support, test equipment, automation, tooling, fixtures, manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or a similar technical environment.
• Ability to create and revise 3D CAD models and mechanical drawings; SolidWorks experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, bills of material, and technical documentation, and to use common measuring tools.
• Hands-on ability to assemble, adjust, test, and troubleshoot equipment safely, with knowledge of mechanical components, materials, fasteners, bearings, mechanisms, and fabrication methods.
• Must be able to work onsite in an active manufacturing environment, use required PPE, and safely handle tools, fixtures, parts, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, test engineering, automation, machine building, or mechanical design.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, drawing release, fabrication processes, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, actuators, robotics, or automated machinery.
• Experience with ERP, engineering-change, controlled-document, Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or root-cause-analysis systems.
