Software Engineer, EOS Layer 2 and Network Services (C/C++/Python)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain EOS Layer 2, network management, monitoring, and security features.
• Implement functionality using C, C++, and Python.
• Translate customer, product, and field requirements into functional specifications.
• Own software development and delivery, including automated tests and test infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network issues with support engineers and customers.
• Analyze system test failures and deliver fixes in collaboration with system test engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 3 years of experience, a master's degree with 1 year of experience, a Ph.D., or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in C or C++ and Python.
• Software development experience with Linux.
• Understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience developing networking or distributed systems software.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 protocols such as 802.1X, MACsec, LACP, and STP.
• Knowledge of AAA, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SFlow, IPFIX, OpenConfig, and related network management protocols.
