Engineering Manager - Comms & Docs Team (Rails/React)

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 base salary plus equity.

What you will do

• Manage and contribute to projects for the Communications & Documents team within Claims Management.
• Coach and mentor a team of engineers while contributing directly to production code.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and design to solve cross-domain problems.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and engineering decisions.
• Coordinate, scope, and execute large initiatives.
• Partner with recruitment to screen, interview, and hire engineering talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 7+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• Experience designing and building APIs, relational database schemas, and performant queries.
• Understanding of scalability challenges and server-side performance.
• Experience with backend languages and frontend web frameworks.
• 2+ years in an engineering manager, team lead, or lead developer role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript.
