Senior Engineering Manager, Financial Platform

Location: Hybrid work schedules at hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, and Raleigh; applicants must be located in the U.S. where hirify.global is registered and able to support employment. Employment is currently unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Salary: $197,000–$262,000 base salary per year, plus annual bonus and meaningful equity.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain the integration and data platform supporting external systems and expert AI agents.
• Lead technical decisions across the stack and shape engineering direction across multiple teams.
• Design and optimize APIs, service patterns, databases, schemas, and queries for scalable product and third-party integrations.
• Drive observability and operational excellence through logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and performance analysis.
• Improve testing practices, deployment quality, engineering productivity, and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, pair programming, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including modern JavaScript and TypeScript environments and leadership of large technical initiatives.
• Production experience with Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful services, PostgreSQL, and Temporal.
• Experience with workflows and data platforms, data integrity, reconciliation, resilience, reliability, and real-time processing.
• Experience with event-driven systems, messaging infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
• Strong understanding of SQL database design, query optimization, CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable deployments.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with a record of mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with large enterprise platforms, including ERP and CRM systems.
• Experience leading platformization, service architecture, APIs, or financial and accounting systems.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
