Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Location: Remote or hybrid; candidates can work from anywhere in Canada. Applicants must currently reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 hiring range.

What you will do

• Lead a team of data engineers, data analysts, and business systems analysts through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support of cloud-based data pipelines and curated data products.
• Scale and operationalize ETL/ELT workflows, transforming prototypes into reliable, enterprise-grade solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and collaborate with Product, Fundraising, Marketing, Mission, Analytics, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Security teams.
• Direct solution design, estimation, technical reviews, vendor delivery, and project execution.
• Establish data validation, monitoring, alerting, lineage, documentation, security, privacy, and governance practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience managing and coaching engineering and analyst teams.
• 8–10+ years of data engineering and technical solution design experience.
• Experience with Azure data services, including Data Factory, Fabric, or Azure Databricks; GCP experience is also relevant.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, Spark, data lakehouse architecture, Medallion design, data warehousing, and Star/Snowflake schemas.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Git-based workflows, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and data reliability.
