Senior Engineer Digital Distribution (AWS/Data Engineering)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada; hybrid with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office

Salary: CAD 70,000–75,000 per year, plus incentive pay

What you will do

• Manage application and data integration platforms using AWS cloud components.
• Build and maintain robust batch and real-time data pipelines using modern data engineering practices.
• Lead the planning, design, development, testing, reporting, integration, and rollout of data projects under Agile standards.
• Ensure data availability and enablement for business reporting and analytics within SLA requirements.
• Create and maintain data, application, and technology architecture documentation and design artifacts.
• Partner with business owners, product owners, data analysts, and developers to define technical requirements for data ingestion, verification, and scheduling.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and big data architectures.
• 5–7 years of experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, SNS, and Terraform.
• 5–7 years of experience building data pipelines with Apache Airflow and Airbyte.
• Strong ETL/ELT, SQL, query optimization, database, and programming experience with Python, Linux/bash scripting, and Ansible.
• 3–5 years of experience with Snowflake and experience with PostgreSQL, Aurora, and Athena databases.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, physics, statistics, data science, data mining, or a related field, or relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI and LLM prompt engineering.
• Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or another code repository solution.
• Knowledge of automated code deployments and CI/CD.
