Senior Engineer – Digital Distribution & Engagement (AWS/Data Engineering)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hybrid workplace model with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office.

Salary: CAD 80,000–85,000 per year, plus incentive pay.

What you will do

• Manage application and data integration platforms using AWS cloud components.
• Design, build, and maintain robust batch and real-time data pipelines in a cloud-native architecture.
• Partner with business, product, data, and application stakeholders throughout planning, design, testing, reporting, integration, and rollout.
• Ensure data availability for business reporting and analytics within established SLAs.
• Create architecture documentation, data models, and design artifacts.
• Develop production-grade code and automation, improve pipeline reliability, and support data ingestion, validation, scheduling, and delivery.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience with AWS, including S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, SNS, and related services.
• 3–5 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining pipelines with Apache Airflow.
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, SQL, and query performance optimization.
• 3–5 years of experience with Snowflake and 3–5 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and large-scale data architecture.
• Strong Python programming skills for data processing, automation, and pipeline development, plus Git-based source control and CI/CD experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, physics, statistics, data science, data mining, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• 1–2 years of experience integrating AI-driven tools or services into data workflows, including AWS AI services, Snowflake Cortex Code, LLM-enabled applications, or analytics platforms.
• Experience in financial or investment management.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience providing informal guidance to new team members.
