Grind Machinist - 2nd/3rd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, New York, United States

Salary: $28.00–$37.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift employees

What you will do

• Grind complex, high-precision parts with intricate recesses, grooves, tapers, contours, and close tolerances.
• Perform independent setups, including chucking and aligning irregularly shaped parts.
• Select grinding wheels, speeds, feeds, and operating sequences for production work.
• Dress wheels for form, taper, steps, straight, and unusual profiles.
• Inspect completed work using air gages, profilometers, electronic gauging equipment, and other precision tools.
• Help plan work within the cell and solve production problems.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a precision machinist, preferably a grind machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and written work instructions.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges, and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to hold tight machining tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, and apply GD&T.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; otherwise, ability to understand and apply work instructions and training in English.
• Enrollment and participation in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required for safety-sensitive work.
