Data Center Technician

Location: Lowell, MA, United States; 100% onsite at a data center. The role includes up to 10% travel to other data center locations and requires responding to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes during scheduled on-call shifts.

Salary: $65,000–$83,000 base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability, reliability, and compliance with defined service levels.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, networking equipment, and related infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis for hardware and software failures.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and inventory server and networking equipment.
• Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware.
• Provide technical support and training for data center teams and create operational documentation.

Requirements

• Experience troubleshooting and assembling computer hardware.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Ability to transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and work in cramped, elevated, hot, and cold aisle areas with temperatures ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
• Availability for a flexible schedule in a 24/7 environment, including a rotating on-call shift.
• Strong time management, organizational, communication, prioritization, and incident-response skills.
• Must meet U.S. export-control access requirements, including being a U.S. person, eligible for access without authorization, or eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• Data center or computer networking experience.
• Python, Bash, or another scripting language.
• Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
