Service Technician 1 (Natural Gas)

What you will do

• Perform basic service work using prescribed procedures.
• Respond to customer service requests, including connections and disconnections after becoming operator qualified.
• Explain required repairs, answer basic customer questions, and confirm satisfactory completion of work.
• Install, program, and operate Wireless Meter Reading equipment; read meters and record usage when required.
• Support natural gas emergency response, maintain records, and report safety or encroachment issues.
• Safely operate and inspect assigned company vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license meeting company standards.
• Ability to complete and maintain Operator Qualifications, on-the-job training, required classes, and safety certifications.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 53 pounds, walk 500 feet, and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and related physical work.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather, enter customer premises, and occasionally work on ladders, roofs, attics, under houses, and in confined spaces.
• Pre- and post-employment drug testing and motor vehicle record checks are required for this safety-sensitive, DOT/PHMSA-regulated position.
