Senior Engineer - Design - Electrification

Location: Mossville and Chillicothe, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week with no telecommuting. Up to 10% domestic travel to plants, dealerships, customer job sites, and field-test locations.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year

What you will do

• Conceive practical product design applications and lead the design and development of complex electrification engineering projects.
• Prepare concept, design, development, feasibility studies, and development plans while meeting scheduled milestones.
• Lead design, analysis, computer simulation, product testing, prototype build-up, and competitive product evaluations.
• Coordinate with plants, engineering departments, test and evaluation teams, service personnel, suppliers, consultants, and manufacturability teams.
• Resolve design, manufacturing, and statistical process-control problems and provide guidance to other engineers.
• Travel to field-test locations and customer job sites to solve design problems and evaluate product improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related occupation.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for schematics and circuit simulation using MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, LTspice, or PSIM.
• Experience designing and developing DC-DC, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters for high-efficiency and high-reliability applications, including converter architectures up to 1.5 kV.
• Experience selecting and evaluating IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SiC/GaN power semiconductor devices.
• Knowledge of NEC, EPA, SAE J1995, OSHA, IEC, RoHS, and UL standards, plus experience with at least one of rectifiers, dry or wet transformers, or NMC/LFP batteries; PVsyst or ETAP experience for incident and short-circuit analysis.
