Controls/Systems Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Knoxville, Iowa, United States; onsite plant role

Salary: $98,964–$120,957 annually, including base pay and eligible variable incentive pay.

What you will do

• Provide daily technical assistance to maintenance, process, and production personnel by diagnosing failures, troubleshooting equipment, and determining root causes.
• Develop and implement strategies to maintain, upgrade, or replace legacy control platforms.
• Lead cross-functional teams delivering control system improvement projects.
• Provide control system theory and programming training to maintenance technicians, control system technologists, and engineers.
• Support corporate, division, and plant engineering groups with planning and installation of capital projects.
• Maintain accurate plant electrical documentation, including elementary drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&ID drawings.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in electrical, automation, controls, or an equivalent technology program.
• At least three years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Experience with PLC or control systems.
• Willingness to be on call and work different shifts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Domestic travel may be required for up to 10% of working time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with packing robots and automated production lines.
