Director of HSE (Utility Construction)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and direct health, safety, and environmental programs, guidelines, and procedures.
• Oversee project-site HSE plans and align them with corporate strategies, requirements, initiatives, and values.
• Provide leadership and set an example for environmental, health, and safety practices.
• Interface with senior management, peers, subordinates, clients, contractors, and project personnel.
• Drive innovation, process change, structure, and customer service across the organization.
• Travel with minimal lead time to respond to HSE needs and support a positive safety culture in a union environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of HSE experience in utility construction, compliance and regulation, or an equivalent combination of safety and construction experience.
• Safety credentials such as CHST, CUSP, CSP, COSS, or OSHA 500.
• Ability to attract, develop, manage, and retain talent.
• Excellent organizational, written, verbal communication, and public-speaking skills.
• Valid driver's license for the vehicles operated and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel with minimal lead time in response to HSE requirements.
