Safety Manager (Construction)

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; on-site construction and project safety work required

What you will do

• Manage safety performance, staffing, development, and support for assigned business units and direct reports.
• Conduct on-site safety inspections, evaluate inspection and incident data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead OSHA and third-party inspections, crisis and incident investigations, safety stand-downs, orientations, toolbox talks, and just-in-time training.
• Evaluate compliance with federal, state, local, corporate, and client safety requirements, including subcontractor performance.
• Develop job hazard analyses, site-specific safety plans, preconstruction safety planning, and project documentation improvements.
• Collaborate with project teams, operations, subcontractors, clients, and the corporate Risk Management Team on safety goals and concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field preferred, with five years of experience, or eight or more years of construction safety experience.
• CHST, CSP, or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification and OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high-hazard areas including cranes, fall protection, scaffolding, excavation, and electrical safety.
• Strong communication, analytical, research, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
• Ability to work across construction sites, navigate stairs, ladders, uneven ground, and respond to emergency or crisis conditions.
