Environmental Health and Safety Manager (Biotech)

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States; onsite at the corporate headquarters

What you will do

• Implement, coordinate, and advance site-level environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
• Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations and develop compliance processes and action plans.
• Monitor legislation, manage regulatory analyses and audits, maintain compliance records, and support agency inspections.
• Lead sustainability data collection, validation, reporting, and initiatives to reduce waste, water, and carbon impacts.
• Serve as the EHS point of contact for internal organizations, conduct laboratory and work-area inspections, and investigate incidents.
• Support emergency response to hazardous-material spills or exposure events and deliver related training.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree; or a master’s degree with 3 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years; or an associate degree with 10 years; or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years.
• Experience leading teams, projects, or programs, or directing resource allocation.
• Experience with environmental and EHS management systems and applicable compliance programs.
• Experience with hazardous materials, regulated waste, water quality, air quality, or environmental sustainability programs.
• Experience working with data sets, databases, reporting portals, and software packages.

Nice to have

• Current qualification as a Hazardous Material Technician under the Federal HAZWOPER standard.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agency representatives during onsite inspections.
• Action-oriented program development and project management capabilities.
