What you will do

• Support teachers and a BCBA with classroom instruction, small-group teaching, discrete trial training, and behavioral support.
• Implement token boards, PECS, alternative communication methods, and individualized behavior intervention plans.
• Collect, graph, and analyze student data while supporting grading and classroom administration.
• Observe experienced teachers to develop instructional and classroom-management techniques.
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, arrival, dismissal, afterschool activities, events, and trips.
• Communicate with students, families, and colleagues and participate in staff training and professional development.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in special-class settings with autistic students.
• Demonstrated passion for working with K–12 students and commitment to educating urban students.
• Self-motivation, flexibility, strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to unpredictability, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree and RBT training are preferred but not required.
• Ability to work onsite in Newark, New Jersey, USA.
