What you will do

• Plan and teach varied elementary physical education curriculum aligned with grade-level standards.
• Develop and improve curriculum and instruction using assessment data and student learning needs.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment with high expectations and consistent behavior support.
• Support grade-level and school-wide activities, including management of the afterschool sports program.
• Engage families in students’ education and participate in collaborative curriculum development.
• Participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, professional growth activities, and annual staff orientation and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required by the start of employment; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least two years of teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting is preferred.
• For New York teaching roles, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required by the start of employment.
• Valid state certification is helpful but not required.
• Demonstrated classroom achievement, self-motivation, teamwork, and commitment to student development.
