Director, Design and Solutions

Location: Toronto, Canada. The work arrangement, including the proportion of on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

What you will do

• Lead application delivery, solution design, and architecture for large and critical applications.
• Shape scalable and secure solutions across strategic initiatives and planned projects.
• Drive technology decisions and align multiple projects through a clear technology roadmap.
• Partner with business, delivery teams, executives, stakeholders, vendors, and application owners to assess feasibility and define solution options.
• Coordinate solution creation across multiple workstreams while managing dependencies, risks, costs, and delivery roadblocks.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, modernization, and the use of emerging technology trends.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, solution design, project management, and senior executive stakeholder management.
• Technical depth and breadth sufficient to guide experienced technical specialists and evaluate IT development and usage opportunities.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills for developing effective solutions to complex problems.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
• Strategic relationship management skills, with the ability to balance business value, technical feasibility, risk, security, and long-term sustainability.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada and a valid work or study permit where applicable.

• Leadership or advisory experience for major functions or initiatives with decision-making responsibility and authority.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, automation, modernization, and emerging technology trends.
