Research Scientist, Simulation Summer 2027 Intern (Semiconductor Simulation)

What you will do

• Simulate mechanical and multi-physics processes in semiconductor 3D integration technologies.
• Use commercial and custom finite element software packages to perform engineering simulations.
• Design and optimize mechanical elements based on modeling results.
• Create advanced models to analyze simulation and experimental data.
• Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement thinking throughout the project.

Requirements

• PhD candidate status in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a relevant field at the start of the internship.
• Experience with finite element software such as Abaqus, Ansys, or COMSOL.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and programming software such as Python or MATLAB.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with applied statistical theories.
• Strong knowledge of advanced mathematics.
