Focus on solving complex real-world challenges across fusion science, manufacturing, optics, pulsed power, and plasma physics during a 12-week on-site program.

Location: Denver, Colorado; full-time on-site for the 12-week internship

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, depending on degree level

hirify.global develops laser-driven inertial fusion energy hardware and software for commercial fusion power plants.

What you will do

  • Develop computational and software systems supporting laser-driven inertial fusion hardware.
  • Build and analyze simulations for complex engineering and fusion-energy challenges.
  • Collaborate with an industry-expert mentor across computational engineering, plasma physics, optics, pulsed power, structures, mechanisms, and manufacturing.
  • Apply technical problem-solving skills to systems required for a commercial fusion energy power plant.
  • Contribute to engineering work based on individual expertise and interests.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in Denver, Colorado for the entire 12-week internship.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a refugee or through granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at an accredited college or university in engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Technical experience outside the classroom through projects, research, volunteering, laboratory work, or prior internships.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to quality and an interest in fusion energy.
