Veterinary Assistant

Location: Washington, DC; Bethesda, MD; or Virginia

Salary: $21–$30 per hour, with bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses, assess patients, and record vital signs.
• Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, radiography capture, and reference-lab sample preparation.
• Run in-house laboratory tests and prepare and administer medications.
• Provide basic husbandry, nursing care, patient monitoring, and compassionate support.
• Work tele-triage shifts and help maintain a hospitable clinical environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Availability to work at least one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday.
• Comfort with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, a team-oriented attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
