Associate Veterinarian

Location: Onsite veterinary practices in Denver, Arvada, and Littleton, Colorado, USA. The position may require some travel.

Salary: $145,000–$232,500 per year, plus eligibility for 401(k) and new-hire and annual equity grants.

What you will do

• Perform physical examinations, diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
• Explain examination findings, communicate diagnoses, and develop and present treatment plans to clients.
• Educate clients on preventive healthcare, vaccinations, and appropriate nutritional products.
• Maintain accurate client and patient medical and surgical records and support follow-up care.
• Develop paraprofessional team members, support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants, and promote high-quality patient care.
• Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures and stay current with developments in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, DVM or VMD.
• Active state veterinary license in good standing, DEA license, and other credentials required by the applicable state.
• 2–3 years of experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship training is expected.
• Strong listening, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with veterinary professionals and work with integrity, accountability, compassion, and customer-service focus.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and lift 50–70 pounds, with occasional team-assisted lifting of more than 70 pounds.

Nice to have

• Two years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines.
