Safety & Environmental Supervisor (EHS)

Location: Onsite in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, five days per week

Annual base salary: $61,908.33–$85,820.00

What you will do

• Supervise water treatment plant operators, EHS technicians, and onsite waste contractors.
• Implement and improve safety and environmental procedures in compliance with Puerto Rico and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, EQB, PRASA, and waste-management requirements.
• Manage hazardous, non-hazardous, biohazard, industrial, general, and recyclable waste programs, including characterization, storage, manifests, contractor oversight, and final disposition tracking.
• Investigate environmental accidents and hazardous waste sites, assess environmental risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate water chemical analysis and environmental data, maintain regulatory records, and prepare reports for government agencies.
• Train employees and managers, support inspections and community or industry programs, and participate in lean initiatives and ISO compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Environmental Engineering.
• At least five years of EHS experience and experience leading small teams.
• Knowledge of EHS laws, environmental regulations, waste management, and wastewater treatment.
• Advanced English and Spanish proficiency required.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, plus strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Arecibo, Puerto Rico five days per week.

• Master’s degree, preferably in an environmental or engineering discipline.
