Sr. Software Engineer, Backend (Digital Products – Service Intelligence) (AI)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and domestic travel are required. A valid driver's license is required.

Salary: $154,000–$187,000 annual California base salary range, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services that integrate machine learning models into production systems.
• Develop digital products for intelligent service scheduling, predictive diagnostics, vehicle health monitoring, and AI-driven service recommendations.
• Productionize models for scheduling optimization, diagnostics, and service recommendations supporting real-time and batch inference at scale.
• Implement observability for model performance, data drift, and overall system reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
• Own team services, ensure 24/7 on-call coverage, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience focused on backend technologies, with the ability to lead multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Python and Go, with experience in Node.js.
• Experience integrating with or building around ML/AI systems such as TensorFlow.
• Experience with relational or non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, Redis, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, data pipelines or streaming tools, and software development best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or field-service industries, especially scheduling or diagnostics.
• Experience with AI/ML-powered decision systems in production environments.
