Senior ML Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US). If you live within a 50-mile radius of Sunnyvale, CA, you are expected to report to the office three times a week.

Salary: $170,600–$261,300

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance user experiences and services for data labeling.
• Develop automation and tooling to provide ML engineers with deep insights into labeling workflows and data quality.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate ML-driven data annotation, including pre-labeling and active learning loops.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering workflows to increase development velocity.
• Own technical projects end-to-end, from problem framing to rollout.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into concrete APIs and UIs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building robust distributed platforms and applications.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools for development and debugging.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, React, SQL, and GraphQL.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and API design.
• Solid fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience developing and operating cloud-based applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with web APIs like Service Workers, Cache Storage, and IndexedDB.
• Background in computer vision, machine learning, or data-centric AI projects.
• Familiarity with data labeling platforms and workflow engines.
• Experience with A/B testing and observability systems.
