Senior AI Software Engineer (Enterprise Transformation)

Location: Austin, Texas; Mountain View, California; or Warren, Michigan

Salary: $202,000–$310,000 per year for the California role

What you will do

• Design secure, reusable, enterprise-grade AI solutions that transform business workflows.
• Build scalable backend services, integrations, data pipelines, and event-driven cloud services on GCP.
• Develop and deploy multi-step AI agents and bot-driven workflows using Vertex AI, Gemini, and external LLMs.
• Implement Human-in-the-Loop validation, prompt guardrails, exception handling, telemetry, logging, and evaluation frameworks.
• Define architecture patterns, technical intake decisions, shared libraries, documentation, API specifications, and operational runbooks.
• Lead code reviews and collaborate with engineering, product, business teams, and technical program managers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or enterprise workflow automation.
• Hands-on experience with GCP transformation, cloud migration, and modernization of enterprise workloads.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript frameworks, including Node.js and TypeScript.
• Production experience with Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, API Gateway, IAM, OAuth2, and service accounts.
• Experience designing AI agents, multi-step workflow orchestration, production prompts, agent instructions, telemetry, and evaluation frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience; the role requires existing U.S. work authorization because GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience migrating Microsoft M365, Power Automate, or SharePoint workflows to GCP.
• Knowledge of Vertex AI AutoSxS, Ragas, NeMo Guardrails, and HITL workflows.
• Google Cloud professional certifications.
