Gas Engineer (Gas Distribution)

Location: MA-Springfield (Roosevelt Ave), United States. Primarily office-based with required field observations and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, including emergency restoration assignments.

Annual salary: $100,490–$111,660, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design gas distribution, regulator station, telemetry, uprate, main, and culvert-crossing systems in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Prepare site layouts and documentation for procurement, permitting, and construction; specify and procure materials and equipment.
• Develop and maintain field procedures supporting company standards, regulatory compliance, and safe operations.
• Coordinate construction activities with customers, contractors, municipalities, state authorities, and internal departments.
• Review requisitions and invoices, maintain accurate records, and build effective working relationships.
• Support gas distribution system restoration during emergencies and travel to operating districts and gas facilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
• Three or more years of related experience.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance practices, governmental codes, regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Knowledge of welding and fusing principles; familiarity with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship will not be considered.
