Mechanical Field Engineer (Gas/Steam Turbine)

Location: Amarillo, Texas, United States; onsite field engineering role.

Salary: $81,000–$156,600 per year, with level-specific ranges from $79,800 to $152,766.

What you will do

• Apply mechanical engineering principles, standards, theories, and techniques to complex assignments.
• Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, regulatory activities, and field engineering.
• Support or lead project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as designs, calculations, reports, standards, and procedures.
• Support bid evaluations, technical proposal reviews, budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management.
• Coordinate work and mentor interns, technicians, craft personnel, and less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; mechanical engineering is preferred.
• Staff level: at least 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Senior level: at least 5 years of relevant experience with EIT/FE, or 7 years without EIT/FE.
• Principal level: at least 9 years of relevant experience with PE registration, or 15 years without PE.
• EIT/FE is strongly preferred for staff-level candidates; PE registration may be required for senior-level candidates and is required for principal-level candidates with the applicable experience path.

Nice to have

• Technical Field Advisor experience with steam or gas turbines.
• Experience with steam turbines, combustion turbines, pumps, motors, and other rotating equipment.
• Power plant experience in operations, maintenance, or engineering.
• Vibration analysis and equipment balancing experience.
• Training or experience with Siemens, GE, or other OEM equipment.
